Our Scripture reading today is 1 Samuel 20:12-13.

Verse 13, "The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father."

The friendship of Jonathan and David was deep and difficult to be matched.  From our text today, Jonathan lets David know that he will protect him from the evil intentions of his father.  Jonathan's father, Saul, happens to be the king of Israel.  He is giving David a warning so that he will leave and not be killed by the king.  Jonathan also encourages David by letting him know that the LORD is going to be with him.  The LORD will protect and bless David.  David was facing a difficult time in his life.  He needed someone to encourage him.  Who do you know today that could use an encouraging verse of Scripture?  Take a few minutes and send them a text or email.  You never know how much of a blessing it will be.
